Inspired by the principles of Naturalism and hours of poring over botanical paintings, it was nearly impossible to capture how truly magical this box is in person. Photographed within the frame, and before it was framed to help show detail.
Lithobius forficatus (Centipede) joined by a classic Monarch, with a forest of hand-sculpted mushrooms on found wood, preserved flora, and moss.
The frame was a vintage find that has been sanded down to expose some of its grain and refinished in a Champagne Bronze. Backing has been redone in Gold-leaf.
